2008 was a fantastic year for MIG and we again experienced significant growth across the businesses with turnover up 50% year on year from £40m to £60m.

We have continued to invest heavily in the infrastructure of all the group businesses growing from 70 people to over 110 and have recently announced the launch of two new development centres in London and Devon.

So what does 2009 have in store for MIG?

Well, this will certainly be a challenging year for everybody given the economic climate at the moment. MIG however, will tackle the recession head on and have plans to launch two new and exciting businesses in the next 90 days. I am sure you are keen to know what these businesses will do, all will be revealed in time...

We also plan to focus on customer service and are determined that our full service approach to mobile will allow us to help our customers build revenues in these very challenging times. 2009 is a year to add value to the consumer and perhaps try new and exciting interactive ideas...

For me, innovation is key to our businesses strategy for this year and we have been extremely busy developing new technologies and products for existing and new customers across the group.

Indeed, we will be announcing several new technologies for the market in the next few weeks.

Our most recent innovation, a viral application for java developers, solves a huge issue the mobile entertainment industry has been facing for some time - how do you achieve super distribution? MIG has the answer!

A lot of this work is led by Jigsaw, our mobile marketing and digital interactive agency which is also spear heading our strategy in the applications area - Watch this space for other exciting new announcements...

In terms of our other services, we continue to see an increase in PSMS and m-commerce revenues driven largely by mobile related services that offer the consumer something of real value. It would appear that mobile payments are more popular when consumers are being a little more careful.

We have also recently announced the launch of a new voice short code platform which will allow our customers to drive new revenues from existing services, as well as providing the mobile user with a clearly priced service - Traditionally mobile users calling premium numbers paid more than the advertised price. We are rolling this new service out to customers in the next few weeks.

All in all the stage is set for another exciting year.
