payforIT is a scheme developed by the UK's licensed mobile operators to improve micropayments on the mobile internet, the key aim being to create a trusted brand that delivers a consistent user experience, irrespective of the WAP site. The simple ‘click and buy' experience requires clear pricing and easy access to terms and conditions, as well as customer service details. Payment pages are managed by Accredited Payment Intermediaries, such as Mobile Interactive Group (MIG), displaying the payforIT brand clearly and consistently. The end result is a trustworthy and simple payment experience that enhances consumer confidence, leading to repeat trade.
MIGPay™ is our payforIT-compliant billing solution.
MIGPay™ enables content providers to integrate payforIT on their WAP sites with minimum fuss. Our solution enables service providers to operate payforIT billing on their site quickly and simply, but also allows maximum flexibility for those providers who have developed their own billing systems, or who want more control over the user experience.
How does it work?
Whilst browsing a WAP site, the end user initiates the payment process when wishing to buy a product from a wap site. The consumer is immediately redirected to a payment confirmation page hosted by MIGPay™. The payment confirmation page is clearly branded with the payforIT logo and the logo of the merchant.
Displayed on the page are the options to ‘buy now' or ‘cancel', as well as clear links to the merchant's terms and conditions. If the consumer proceeds with the transaction a page is displayed with confirmation of the transaction and marketing opt-in request.
The process is outlined below:

In the case of Orange and Vodafone customers billing, is through a connection to their billing systems and the money debited in real time. Customers of Three, T-Mobile and O2 billing are billed by premium SMS and therefore have a slightly modified user experience.
