Hello partners, customers and friends and welcome to dig-it, the inaugural newsletter from Mobile Interactive Group (MIG) and MIG’s mobile advertising business 4th Screen Advertising. I hope it will keep you in touch with what’s going on in the Group and our activities out in the wider market. 2007 has been another very busy year so far for us with both the mobile advertising business going from strength to strength, and getting all our content partners on board and compliant with the mobile operator requirements for the launch of Payforit™

In addition, we’ve begun our big push into the North American market by partnering with SinglePoint to licence our high capacity interactive technology platforms and to pass on what we’ve learned about mobile interactivity and our regulatory expertise. We believe we can add value to this very exciting and dynamic market assisting companies like MTV, Fremantle, Endemol and ABC with innovative mobile solutions.

I am also delighted to announce that the first major customer for our partnership with SinglePoint will be NBC. NBC have serious ambitions to deliver a vast range of mobile interactivity across their programming this year and we will be working very closely with their production teams to implement services that will provide the first wave of mobile interactivity on America’s most popular TV shows.

In light of our commitment to the industry and to next generation mobile infrastructure technologies, we’re throwing a party on August 22nd at the fabulous Kensington Roof Gardens in London. We’ll be showing off some of the latest mobile interactive technology and gathering the industry’s movers and shakers together on a night designed to celebrate the fantastic forces driving innovation in our markets. Many thanks to our friends at Vodafone, Nokia and the NOC for agreeing to support this event!

Going forward, it is very likely that ICSTIS will introduce a Prior Permission scheme for a particular type of premium interactive service to be run in broadcast and this will undoubtedly have an affect on the flow of new and innovative services to this unique market. It will also mean that the way these services are run will become slightly more mechanical going forwards.

Both ICSTIS and OFCOM are actively reviewing the broadcast market and the forces that govern it, which we believe will lead to clearer guidelines on how services are run, as well as providing greater clarity for the consumer.

The key thing here as far as I am concerned is that the value chain is recognised as being a complex one and that service providers do not bear the entire responsibility for the industry going forward. I urge the regulators to establish a better framework for how services are policed and that responsibilities are shared across the value chain.

MIG has also formed a new company, Digital Jigsaw, a digital interactive creative agency, to address the issues facing brands and media companies within a continually converging and complex digital market. This business will develop creative concepts, products and solutions to overcome the unique challenges they face as they seek out new customers and experiences across new technologies and territories. Check out our first major project for Budweiser at www.budbucks.co.uk

You’ll find information on all these activities in this newsletter and I hope you’ll interact with it to let us know what you are up to as well. In the meantime, I hope you will enjoy this update and look forward with us to making the future of mobile interactivity secure, exciting and innovative.
